Grace Bay Beach Ranked Best in the World

It’s difficult to rank the best beaches in the world when there are so many to choose from. How can the aquamarine blue water of one beach be better than the bright white sands of another? There is only one beach that seems to place first unanimously among the world’s most trusted travel sources. In 2014,Grace Bay Beach was ranked as the #1 Best Beach on Earth in Huffington Post’s Travel Blog, overcoming competition like Navagio Beach in Greece and Isola dei Conigli in Italy. The post put it best when they said simply, “this is paradise.”

This once little-known gem of a beach has exploded into a major tourism and real estate destination in the last few years. Its pillow-soft beach and crystal-clear blue water will attract anyone. Whether you want to relax on the sand, enjoy the cool ocean or explore life underwater, this is the public beach for you.

Trip Advisor has also done their Grace Bay research, ranking it #1 of the 28 different attractions available in Providenciales—or Provo as it’s known to the locals. TripAdvisor also named it the 2014 Travelers’ Choice Winner for the Top 25 Beaches in the Caribbean; it also has a 5 star rating with over 1,500 reviews.

The U.S. News travel section claims that Grace Bay is the #1 Thing to Do in all of the Turks & Caicos Islands. The post discusses the ideal proximity of Grace Bay to some of Provo’s best restaurants, golf courses and boutiques. It has an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars on the website.

Travel Dreams Magazine has posted numerous user reviews about Grace Bay on their website. One writer, Tim C, had this to say of his experience at Grace Bay Beach: “Can you think back on a day or a time that was a turning point in your life? For me, my first time experiencing Grace Bay Beach in Providenciales is something I’ll never forget.”

Conde Nast Traveler highlighted several of Grace Bay’s most exclusive and luxurious resorts. Their list included the Regent Palms, Sands at Grace Bay, the Grace Bay Club and Seven Stars Resort, all with some of the highest ratings on the entire website. Many of the users claim that the staff at these resorts are determined to make your Grace Bay vacation the best you’ve ever had.

Oyster.com and Jetsetter both reviewed many of the same resorts and had nothing but good things to say. 99 percent of Jetsetter’s members recommend the Grace Bay Club and almost all of the resorts in Grace Bay have been Jetsetter verified.

Our Reaction to Grace Bay being Named World’s Best Beach

TripAdvisor crowned Grace Bay Beach as the “World’s Best Beach” February 17, which comes as no surprise to local residents and businesses like RE/MAX Real Estate Group Turks & Caicos Islands.

Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos has just been named the World’s best beach by TripAdvisor’s 2016 Traveler’s Choice Awards. This announcement is no surprise to the island’s residents and local businesses, like Blair MacPherson, co-owner of RE/MAX Real Estate Group Turks & Caicos Islands.

“With crystal clear turquoise waters, powdery white sand beaches, and shimmering coral reefs just offshore, we’ve always known that Grace Bay is a world class beach. But it’s also nice to be recognized in the media as such,” says MacPherson in response to the recent award. MacPherson has lived and worked in Turks and Caicos for close to 15 years and is a member of the Turks and Caicos Real Estate Association (TCREA).

In recent years, Grace Bay Beach has won other accolades as well. The beach’s first national recognition came in 2005 when the international travel industry’s recognition program, the World Travel Award, proclaimed Grace Bay the “World’s Best Beach.” In 2012, About.com awarded the beach first place status for worldwide beaches in its Reader’s Choice Awards. In 2013, TripAdvisor named Grace Bay as the number one beach in the Caribbean and the number two beach in the world.

“Grace Bay Beach is surrounded by the third largest barrier reef in the world, and the natural environment remains virtually untouched,” MacPherson says. “It is truly an idyllic setting—for a vacation destination, or to live in if you are fortunate enough to be able to do so.”

With the word out about Grace Bay Beach, MacPherson expects increasing numbers of visitors to the area in the years ahead, along with more demand for investment opportunities. He encourages anyone interested in Turks and Caicos real estate or vacation rentals to contact him.
